I have been using DXl for accessing objects, running statistics, and creating metrics. Now I want to create a dxl program to follow multiple links and find an attribute. However I do not know how to trace links up multiple layers. My ultimate goal is to write script that will start at lower level c and , for each object trace links to B then A, the print out the original "c" object ID and an attribute in A (example "Created_by") for each object in A that was ultimately linked. Re: Tracing links though multiple levels We have some code on the forum on how to properly trace links. See if anything of this is interesting for you: There is more on the forum on links. Just use the search. For "recursive" link tracing you need to execute the same code multiple times, but you need add some code to avoid circles (do not process the same module twice) and memory (do not open to many modules at the same time) Regards, Mathias |
